Everyone has to be more conscious of their impact on the environment nowadays, especially those who work in the tourism industry. We believe that we have a duty to be hyper-aware of how we deal with our everyday business, thinking about our waste management, cleaning methods, water consumption, food supply… the list is endless.
In an effort to reduce our impact on the nature around we ask our guests to drink the filtered water we provide in glass bottles for everybody in order to avoid the use of plastic bottles.
We avoid the long transportation of food by choosing seasonal fruits and vegetables that grow in Açores, produced by local suppliers from the surrounding area.
We clean with homemade, non-chemical products, as we know wastewater will eventually end up in the ground and the Ocean.
For the same reason, we personally use and promote in the Surfhouse HYDRANGEA, an alchemical creation inspired by Azores Nature, on a mission to deliver clean and sustainable products through botanically active ingredients known for their nourishing vitamins, essential fatty acids and antioxidant properties.
